-Alyssa Ash

As a busy mother of two and a business owner, I never thought I could prioritize my health in a meaningful way until I started working with Jen.

Over the past three months, she has guided me through a transformation that goes beyond just losing weight. Her approach is holistic and personalized – she doesn't just provide a one-size-fits-all plan, but truly meets you exactly where you are while inspiring you to become the best version of yourself.

Through her guidance, I've not only become physically stronger but have also seen an increase in energy and overall well-being.The knowledge I've gained might be the most valuable aspect of our work together. These aren't temporary fixes, but lifelong insights into nutrition, wellness, and self-care that I know I'll carry with me forever.

For anyone seeking sustainable, holistic wellness, Jen's your girl.

Where do I begin? From her providing the latest information on nutrition, food tracking, beneficial supplements, physical health and exercises….I had an amazing experience with Jenn that I passed my weight plateau and learned how to eat properly. At first I was nervous and not sure about the commitment because of my previous experiences with others but Jenn is different. Her approach is very person-centered and she really meets you where you are. Jenn is also very flexible and understanding. Her services were outstanding and exactly what I needed. Jenn has forever changed my outlook on nutrition as now I know how to track my intake, maintain my weight loss and most importantly to make sure I am eating enough daily. You can definitely tell how passionate Jenn is about her work. Thank you Jenn for everything and continue being great at what you do!

Jen has been incredible to work with. She takes the time to understand you as a person and tailors your needs specific to what you need at that time. I worked with her 6 months post first baby and what I was doing wasn't working. After getting set up with what Jen recommended, I have now lost almost 20 pounds and were now working on what it means to sustain it in a realistic way. It's not just about the scale either, she works with you on tracking so much more than just one benchmark. Jen takes the time to explain real life and realistic scenarios to help set you up for the future, so you feel your best self through all seasons of life. I 10/10 recommend!

Before working with Jen, I struggled with lots of confusion around health and fitness. It felt like I was just spinning my wheels. Things were further complicated with being inundated with so much information out there online and in the fitness world. After experiencing many ups and downs, and feeling like I hit rock bottom, I finally sought out help. I’m so glad I did.

From day one, Jen provided the education, encouragement, and personalized guidance I needed to make sustainable changes. What really stood out to me about Jen was she didn’t just hand me a generic plan like others have done in the past. She took the time to understand my lifestyle, preferences, and challenges, and worked with me to create a realistic approach to nutrition that actually fits my life. I really appreciate how we slowed down and took time to learn about my body and do things like figure out my maintenance calories first. The whole process is not just about “burn fat/build muscle”. We also focus on sleep, energy, digestion, stress, and many other factors about overall health.

Since working together, I’ve noticed a huge improvement in my overall well being. I’ve noticed some major changes in my body composition too. I also no longer feel restricted or overwhelmed when it comes to food. Instead, I feel empowered and confident in my choices because Jen has provided me with so many tools and much knowledge.

If you’re on the fence about working with Jen, don’t hesitate! Do it! Her expertise, coaching, and ongoing support make all the difference. I’m so grateful for her guidance and the positive impact she had on my health. I can’t recommend Jen highly enough!

Clients First and Second HTMA results

This female client started working with me when she was 20 months postpartum with her first kiddo.

Her main concerns when we started working together were:
1️⃣ Inflammation
2️⃣ Anxiety and stress
3️⃣ Constant fatigue
4️⃣ Relying on over-the-counter products to manage anxiety
5️⃣ Frequent gas, bloating, and loose stools
6️⃣ Feeling depleted after pregnancy and wanting to prepare her body for her next pregnancy

Did you know that during pregnancy, you give a significant transfer of minerals to your baby? If someone enters pregnancy already depleted, they are more likely to experience a symptomatic and challenging pregnancy.

What we focused on:
✔️ Balancing blood sugar
✔️ Ensuring she ate enough calories to support her body and activity level
✔️ Prioritizing protein at meals
✔️ Optimizing meal timing
✔️ Pre- and post-workout fueling
✔️ Targeted mineral support based on testing
✔️ Incorporating more nutrient-dense and mineral-rich foods

It's important to remember that stress—whether physical, mental, or emotional—can deplete minerals. This is why addressing both nutrition and lifestyle is crucial while replenishing mineral stores.

postpartum and pregnancy case study

What we found on her first test:
📉 Low Calcium (Ca) & Magnesium (Mg) → Inefficient energy production, poor blood sugar regulation, and potential sleep issues. These minerals are essential for nerve function, muscle relaxation, and metabolism.
📉 Low Sodium (Na) & Potassium (K) → Indicates impaired digestion due to low stomach acid, thyroid dysfunction, and an increased stress response. Sodium and potassium are critical for adrenal health and maintaining proper hydration at the cellular level.
📉 Low Phosphorus (P) → Often a sign of low dietary protein intake or poor protein digestion (often due to low stomach acid). Phosphorus plays a key role in energy production (ATP) and bone health, so deficiencies can lead to fatigue and weakened structural integrity.
📉 Trending High Cobalt (Co) → Often linked to low stomach acid production, as cobalt is a component of vitamin B12. Without enough stomach acid, B12 absorption is impaired, impacting energy levels, red blood cell formation, and nervous system function. Since stomach acid production is sodium-dependent, her low sodium status may be worsening this issue.
📉 Low Sulfur (S) → Can indicate poor protein intake but also sluggish liver detoxification. Sulfur is essential for glutathione production (the body's master antioxidant) and detox pathways. A deficiency can contribute to higher inflammation and impaired toxin clearance.
🔄 Low Na/Mg & Na/K Ratios → These ratios are markers of adrenal health, energy levels, and stress response:
- Low Na/Mg Ratio → Suggests poor adrenal function and reduced cellular energy production. When sodium is low compared to magnesium, the body struggles to maintain optimal stress resilience and metabolism.
- Low Na/K Ratio → Often seen in chronic stress and burnout. Sodium and potassium regulate intracellular hydration and energy production, and a low ratio can slow down metabolic function and impair digestion.
- High Ca/K Ratio → Indicates sluggish thyroid function. Calcium can act as a metabolic "brake," and when elevated relative to potassium, it can lead to fatigue, sluggish metabolism, and difficulty utilizing thyroid hormones efficiently.

These tests were done one year apart. Typically, we retest 6 months or more after the first test to assess progress and adjust support as needed. Since she was classified as a Fast Metabolic Type 4—the most imbalanced type—and had severely depleted minerals, we knew that a slow and steady approach would be essential. This also explained why she had been feeling so depleted. We understood that it would take time for her body to rebuild its mineral reserves.

She worked hard over the last year to change up her routines in a way that better supported her body. It didn't happen overnight. As we continued working together, her improvement in symptoms confirmed that we were moving in the right direction.

In her recent retest:
Her mineral levels have improved across the board, which is a significant achievement given how depleted she was initially—especially considering this test was done during her second pregnancy!

Because her sodium and potassium levels were initially very low, we introduced magnesium gradually. We also focused on gut health to support calcium absorption while carefully increasing her magnesium intake. One common mistake we wanted to avoid was adding too much magnesium too quickly, as this could exacerbate symptoms when sodium levels are low.

How she's feeling now:
✔️ Digestion has improved. No more bloating, gas, or loose stools
✔️ Energy levels are steady throughout the day
✔️ No longer using over-the-counter products for anxiety
✔️ Better stress management
✔️ Increased exercise tolerance and hitting personal records in the gym
✔️ Supporting a healthy second pregnancy with no heartburn, and overall feeling much better this time around

"Since becoming pregnant, I really wanted to take better care of my body and address the fatigue I was dealing with. I decided to do the Hair Mineral Tissue Analysis through Jen, and I’m so glad I did! Jen went over all of my results with me and offered so many great suggestions to help balance things out in my daily routine. Since implementing her advice, I no longer have a daily 3 p.m. crash, and I’m feeling healthier and more energized overall. Jen is so knowledgeable, answered all of my many questions, and made everything easy to understand without overwhelming me. I’m looking forward to doing the test again postpartum to stay on top of balancing my hormones after giving birth and really tune in to what my body needs. I highly recommend both the HTMA test and working with Jen!"

This client came to me struggling with:
1️⃣ Gas and difficulty digesting protein
2️⃣ Chronic but inconsistent stomach issues
3️⃣ Fatigue—hitting a wall by the afternoon

Digestion case study

📉 Low Calcium (Ca) & Magnesium (Mg)→ Inefficient energy production, poor blood sugar regulation, and sleep issues
📉 Low Sodium (Na) & Potassium (K)→ Impaired digestion due to low stomach acid, thyroid dysfunction, and increased stress response
📉 High Phosphorus (P) → often a sign that someone is under eating and possibly over exercising and breaking down muscle tissue for energy. This can be due to not eating enough protein and/or total calories. Which will make it harder to build and maintain muscle mass as well.
📉 Low Cobalt (Co) → so low it couldn't be read by the lab - often a sign of low stomach acid production. Remember we NEED stomach acid to break down our food properly, especially protein.

Rather than just supplementing minerals blindly, we dug deeper into why they were low or out of balance —looking at what she was eating, how she was eating, her stressors, medications, and other lifestyle factors.

How We Supported Her:
✔️ Blood sugar & nutrition support to reduce stress on the body, support muscle mass and recovery from her workouts
✔️ Targeted mineral support to replenish depleted stores
✔️ Digestive support to improve absorption & gut function
✔️ Lifestyle shifts to help the body get out of chronic fight-or-flight

The Results (After a Few Months of Support):
✅ More stable energy throughout the day—no more afternoon crashes
✅ Improved digestion—less gas, better protein breakdown
✅ Better workout recovery
✅ Feeling more balanced, positive, and like herself again

Minerals are foundational to health, yet I constantly see clients struggling with fatigue, PMS, skin issues, digestion, and energy—all improving when we support minerals properly.

➡️ Metabolic Type: Fast 4
This doesn’t mean they have a “fast metabolism” but rather that their body is burning through minerals too quickly due to prolonged stress.

A Fast 4 metabolic type indicates:
Chronic stress has depleted minerals (especially sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium)
Blood sugar regulation struggles (causing cravings, energy crashes)
Nervous system dysregulation (leading to anxiety, poor sleep, and digestive issues)
Adrenal exhaustion (body prioritizing stress hormones over sex hormones)

This client had been living in constant overdrive, and their results validated what they were feeling—giving them the proof they needed to slow down and make real changes.

-Becky K.

Working with Jen has been truly life-changing. After just a couple of months, I no longer have the digestive issues I experienced for over a decade. I had visited doctors and taken different tests with little change previously. Working with Jen was a completely different experiences. She developed a protocol to address my needs specifically, and I started to experience noticeable improvements in two short weeks. As I have continued following her guidelines, my sleep and energy have improved as well.

Besides being excellent at her job, Jen is just plain kind. Any type of change is not without challenges, and Jen was there with me at every step offering thoughtful support and guidance. I am grateful for her!
